Socket Preservation

Socket Preservation, also known as Bone Grafting, is a procedure performed to maintain healthy bone levels in the jaw. The most common reason we will do a bone graft is for a dental implant.

At K.L.O. Dental, we perform our Socket Preservation procedure at the time of extraction of a tooth (Step 1). Bone Grafting material, which is similar in composition to our own jaw bone, is placed into the extraction site (Step 2, 3). A membrane is placed to cover the area (Step 4) and the site is closed with sutures (Step 5).

Bone grafting not only preserves the bone for an implant, but it also maintains stability in the jaw and facial structure.
